At 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, Steinway pianist and Founder and Artistic Director of Round Top Festival Institute, James Dick will once again marvel his audience with a display of solo piano virtuosity on the Festival Concert Hall stage. The afternoon program includes works by Haydn, Beethoven, Dan Welcher and Schumann.

From his early years as prize winner of some of the world's most prestigious piano awards to his current successful career as an international guest artist, James Dick is well known to music lovers as a man of great talent, vision and class. His playing melds modern-day energy and technique with an Old World graciousness and civility, resulting in a passionate sound that keeps audiences engrossed.

An avid supporter of arts education, in 1971 Dick established the Round Top Festival Institute, among the most distinguished educational projects in the United States, where young musicians develop skills in solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire. He received the honor of being named Officier des Arts et Lettres by the French Minister of Culture in 2012, and was named Texas State Musician in 2003. In 2009, Dick received the Texas Medal of Arts in Arts Education as well as the University of Texas Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Adult $30, Student $10. General seating. Doors open at 2:00 pm. Tickets may be bought online, by calling the Institute office at 979-249-3129, or at the door. Tickets will be held at will call on the west side of the concert hall.

After the concert, spend an evening with James Dick and friends at an elegant reception and buffet dinner, starting at 6:00 PM in the Menke House Parlours. By reservation only. $48.00 plus tax per person. Purchase when you buy your tickets in advance. Overnight accommodations are available. Call the office or email reservations@festivalhill.org.

Round Top Festival Institute is located on Texas Highway 237, one-half mile north of Round Top, Texas at Jaster Road. Physical address is 248 Jaster Road, Round Top, Texas.
